What if I am applying for a hardship to another high school?
Until your hardship is approved you and your student will continue to receive information from the high school you're zoned for. For example, if you are zoned for Northview and are applying to go to Chattahoochee, you will continue to receive Northview information until the hardship is approved. You apply for a hardship through the county office. Go to www.fultonschools.org for more information.
Can you fill out a course recommendation form for my student?
I would be happy to! Please submit the form to Mrs. O'Connell, in the counseling office, at least two weeks before the due date.

Why was my student placed in this particular course?
Course placement is based on each student's classroom performance the year prior. For example, an 8th grade student was placed in his/her classes based on their 7th grade report cards. There are certain qualifications for each course. After reviewing a student's performance, throughout the school year, the teacher places them in the courses they will take next year.
What is a GCIC Four Year Plan?
A Four Year Plan is a tool students use to begin exploring their course opinions for high school. It is NOT their schedule and it does not effect the classes they will take in high school. It helps students understand the relationship between their post secondary career and their courses, as well as Georgia's requirements for graduation.
If my child transfers to your school, how will he/she be placed?
Counselors look at student records to determine their correct placement at River Trail. For example, if a student was in Math 8 at their previous school we will place them in Math 8 here. Any academic documents you have (test scores, letters, report cards) would be helpful in placing a student.
